This homeowner contacted us about some evidence of water intrusion in her basement along the block walls. Our Design Specialist, Chris, recommended our WaterGuard perimeter drainage system to prevent water from coming in and causing any damage. We also installed our reliable SuperSump which has a WaterWatch alarm system that emits a sound similar to a smoke detector if water rises above a point where the pump should have kicked in. It also features an airtight lid to prevent moisture from evaporating into the basement and keeps out bugs and odors. We also buried the discharge line in the backyard and installed an IceGuard System which allows water to escape if the discharge pipe freezes or becomes blocked for any reason. This is especially important for your system to run flawlessly with Minnesota temperature changes.
This Plymouth, MN homeowner had been dealing with water intrusion for too long. Seasonal rainfall and snowmelt repeatedly caused moisture and seepage along the perimeter, making it impossible to keep the space dry or consider finishing it. After ongoing frustration and temporary fixes that didn’t last, she contacted Complete Basement Systems for a long-term solution.
During the inspection, our System Design Specialist identified several contributing factors: hydrostatic pressure forcing water through wall and floor joints, inadequate drainage around the foundation, and a lack of an effective sump system. Agreeing on a solution, we scheduled the installation of an integrated waterproofing system.
Our production team installed a full-perimeter WaterGuard interior drainage system, designed to capture water seepage at the cove joint before it reaches the basement floor. A SuperSump Pump System was added to provide reliable pumping capacity with a high-performance liner, airtight lid, and floor drain. To ensure proper discharge and prevent freezing or backup, the system included a discharge system including an IceGuard and LawnScape. The walls were sealed with CleanSpace Vapor Barrier, providing a bright, clean finish while preventing moisture and vapor transmission from the foundation walls.
The result is a fully waterproofed basement with a complete, industry-proven system that protects the home from future water intrusion. With these solutions in place, the homeowner can confidently refinish and utilize the basement as a safe, dry, and valuable extension of the living space.

Basement walls don't have to be an eyesore! With CleanSpace, your basement space can be bright and clean, all while your specially designed system works to eliminate moisture from the basement.
After moving into her St. Louis Park home in 2019, this homeowner quickly discovered a recurring problem: water seepage along one basement wall during spring thaws. While she managed the issue for several years, she knew the problem wasn't going away on its own. With a fully finished basement, including a bedroom she relied on regularly, she didn't want to continue risking water damage, mold growth, or costly repairs.
To create a permanent solution, she turned to us. Our team installed the WaterGuard drainage system to capture water before it could reach the basement floor, CleanSpace wall vapor barrier to direct moisture into the drainage system, and a SuperSump pump system to efficiently remove water from the home. Now, instead of worrying about every spring thaw, she can enjoy a dry, protected basement year-round and confidently use every square foot of her finished living space.
