These Edgerton homeowners knew one thing for sure; When it rained, their basement walls leaked every single time. They had struggled with this issue for years, and were ready to find a permanent solution to take care of this hassle. They worked with System Design Specialist Dylan Woitas to design a system that both prevented any water from entering the space, but also corrected the bowing walls. Now, the family knows for sure that their basement is dry, livable, and safe!

This Woodstock, MN homeowner had a large horizontal crack on the foundation wall which was causing movement of the entire wall of the home.  The homeowners contacted Complete Basement Systems to solve the problem.

Our System Design Specialist quickly came to evaluate the situation.  He quickly concluded that the foundation wall was unlevel and had shifted due to hydrostatic pressure from the outside causing a lot of pressure on the block foundation wall and needed to be stabilized to prevent the worse from happening, a collapsed wall.

PowerBrace beams were installed to support the foundation wall from further movement.  Why does this happen?  As forces of nature, such as moisture and frost, interact with the soil around your home, that soil expands.  That expansion results in constant inward force on your foundation wall until it can no longer support the pressure, causing the cracking, bowing and tipping to occur.

Our customer Dave in Lake Wilson, MN contacted Complete Basement Systems because his block foundation wall had about a 2 inch shear.  

Our System design specialist met with the homeowner and designed a system to stabilize the foundation wall using an interior solution.  The PowerBrace Steel I-Beam is what was installed to prevent the block wall from further movement and over time with periodic maintenance could straighten over time.

The underground discharge line does freeze during the winter months, but it is still able to discharge water through the IceGuard attachment installed just outside the home.
