The homeowner in Edina had a crawl space beneath their home that was damp, musty, and causing the floors of the main level to be cold. Moisture was creeping in from the ground and perimeter, causing humid air to rise into the living areas. They noticed a faint musty odor, occasional pest signs, cold (or uneven) floors above, and worried about wood rot, mold and structural issues.
They called you because they wanted to turn that crawl space from a liability into a clean, healthy space.
After our CleanSpace encapsulation, the crawl space is now fully sealed: a heavy-duty vapor barrier has been applied to the floor and walls, vents have been sealed, and any necessary drainage or dehumidification systems have been installed. The result: no more humid air intrusion, no musty smell, improved indoor air quality. The homeowners notice more comfortable floors, fewer hidden pests, and lower humidity under the house. The crawl space is now usable for storage and the home’s value and structural health are better protected.
This Edina, MN homeowner had a crawlspace that was completely exposed to the earth. The dirt floor, scattered debris, and unsealed walls allowed moisture, cold air, and musty odors to move freely into the home above. The space offered no protection against humidity or heat loss, and the homeowner was beginning to notice the effects, uneven temperatures, higher energy bills, and that familiar crawlspace smell.
After encapsulating the crawlspace, the transformation is dramatic. The area is now lined with CleanSpace vapor barrier, sealing off the ground and walls to create a clean, bright, and moisture-controlled environment. The new encapsulation helps protect the home from humidity, improves overall air quality, and enhances energy efficiency. This Edina, MN crawlspace is now a dry, healthy, and well-protected part of the home, exactly as it should be.
Justin P. of Minneapolis found Complete Basement Systems online. He was looking to get an estimate to insulate and fix up the crawl space in him home.
Our System design specialist met with the homeowner to inspect the crawl space and basement of his home to see the best products that would accomplish his goals.
The solution involved encapsulating the crawl space with our CleanSpace Liner to seal off the dirt floor from the earth vapors that cause water transmission, odors and such. We also installed a SmartDrain to collect any water flowing below the CleanSpace and Drainage Matting installed.
Ryan K. a new homeowner was concerned about mold problems in the crawl space underneath his home. Seeking out for companies online, he found Complete Basement Systems specialized in basements and crawl spaces in the area.
While we were initially called to address the crawl space, we always look for other areas of concern and ways we can better our customers homes and noticed his crawl space window was drafty and old looking.
Showing our customer what we have to improve that window, he liked the all vinyl, maintenance free window by EverLast. Our installation team also spray foamed along the window eliminating any potential drafts.
Ryan K. recently moved into his home in Robbinsdale, MN and had concerns about potential mold problems in the crawl space. Looking through our website, seeing the encapsulation systems we install is exactly what he was looking for, a more finished look.
The scope of work involved installing a vapor barrier called CleanSpace which is a crawl space encapsulation system that is used to isolate the home from the earth completely and permanently. It is blue on on one side and white on the other.
As far as our customers concern with mold, the CleanSpace liner is manufactured with an antimicrobial additive called UltraFresh that is molded right into the material.
