Before:
This home in New Richland, MN was experiencing serious water intrusion that left the basement damp, musty, and largely unusable. Water was seeping in where the wall met the floor, and pooling during heavy rains. The constant moisture threatened the integrity of the foundation and created the ideal environment for mold and mildew. The homeowner needed a long-term solution that would keep the space dry and help preserve the value of their home.
After:
In just two days, our team installed a full waterproofing system to permanently address the issue. We began by placing WaterGuard, a specialized interior drainage system, along the perimeter of the basement floor. Unlike traditional French drains, WaterGuard is engineered to sit on top of the footing, preventing clogs from soil and debris.
We then lined the walls with CleanSpace, a heavy-duty vapor barrier that prevents moisture and vapor from passing through the foundation walls. This not only keeps the basement dry but also helps improve overall air quality in the home.
To complete the system, we installed a SuperSump, a high-performance sump pump system with a cast-iron Zoeller pump, airtight lid, and WaterWatch alarm to provide reliable water removal and peace of mind.
With this system in place, the homeowner now has a dry, healthy basement and gained valuable usable square footage. This not only improves daily living but also adds long-term resale value to the home.
A Norwood Young America resident reached out to us regarding water seepage in her basement. Additionally, she mentioned her dissatisfaction with her peeling and unsightly walls. Our Design Specialist Ronald was sent out to assess the situation and offer suitable solutions.
After discussing the options, they agreed to proceed with a complete waterproofing system to prevent any further water issues in the basement. They also decided to install a CleanSpace Wall System to maintain the walls.
Our installation team started with installing the WaterGuard. The WaterGuard is a non-clogging piping system that drains into the SuperSump Sump Pump to remove the water and keep your basement dry. The SuperSump system is the most reliable available. It includes a high-end Zoeller cast iron pump, a WaterWatch Alarm that will alert you if water rises above the point the pump should turn on, a SuperLiner with 96 holes that allow water to flow in directly from below the floor, and the airtight lid that keeps moisture from evaporating into your basement, as well as keeps out bugs, odors, and radon gas.
The CleanSpace Wall System they put up is a strong, bright liner that stops water vapor from permeating the walls, and drain wall leaks into the WaterGuard. It is installed with permanent drilled-in fasteners. It conforms to bumpy walls and is easily washable to create a nice, clean surface.
This system will give the homeowner peace of mind that her basement will remain dry and safe for many years to come.
