These homeowners reached out to us as they planned on finishing their basement, but wanted to take care of the water issues first. They had some seepage come in around the perimeter along where the floor and wall meet. We had our Design Specialist Jason go take a look at the situation to see what we could do to help.
Jason suggested the WaterGuard Drain System, the CleanSpace Wall System, top-of-the-line Triple Safe Sump System and Iceguard and buried discharge line.
When learning how this system works together to prevent water from coming into the basement, these homeowners were excited to get started.
Our production team starting by jackhammering out a trench along the perimeter of the basement. This is because the WaterGuard System is designed to be installed below the floor slab, resting on top of the foundation footing. This keeps the drainage system out of the "mud zone", where drains are more likely to clog. The crew lays the WaterGuard System in this trench that has been jackhammered out, then surrounds it with drainage rock to allow for water to flow freely. Then our team will pour fresh concrete over the top to restore the floor. This leaves a smooth, even finish so the homeowner can easily place new flooring over top if they choose.
The TripleSafe Sump System has one basket, but THREE top-of-the-line Zoeller pumps. This includes a primary pump, a secondary for if the primary fails or is not able to keep up, and a battery back up pump that will run in the case of power failure or in the unlikely event that both the primary and secondary pumps fail. This triple protection system is the most reliable system on the market.
Our discharge line equipped with IceGuard is ideal for Minnesota homeowners. Discharge lines are susceptible to freezing during the cold winters. The IceGuard is located outside where the discharge line exits the house. If the pipe underground freezes in the winter, water can still be pumped out without backing up into the basement.
We set these homeowners up with a great system that will work to keep their basement dry. They can be confident that the time and money they put in to finish their basement will be protected.
