Protecting a Pemberton, MN Basement

A homeowner in Pemberton, MN faced growing concerns with their basement walls. Over time, the walls began to bow inward due to hydrostatic pressure from saturated soil surrounding the foundation. The Solution: Stabilize, Seal, and Drain

1. PowerBrace Wall Support System
   To address the bowing walls, we installed the PowerBrace system. This system consists of steel I-beams that are anchored to the basement floor and joists above. Over time, the PowerBrace system can be tightened to help straighten the wall while immediately halting further movement.

2. CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier
   To manage water seepage and improve the aesthetics of the basement, we installed CleanSpace, a heavy-duty vapor barrier. This bright white liner covers the interior walls, blocking moisture and directing any leaks into the drainage system. 

3. WaterGuard Interior Drainage System
   Finally, we installed WaterGuard, a specially engineered perimeter drainage system designed to capture water at the wall-floor joint and redirect it to a sump pump. Unlike traditional French drains, WaterGuard is installed above the footing to avoid clogging from soil or debris.

4. SuperSump Sump Pump System
   To handle the captured water, we installed the SuperSump, a high-performance sump pump system with a reliable cast-iron pump and airtight lid. It also includes a WaterWatch alarm to alert the homeowner to any rising water levels. This upgrade ensures long-term peace of mind and efficient removal of groundwater.
