Crawl Space System
Rather than let the moisture in and then try to get rid of it, CleanSpace isolates a home from the earth entirely so the humidity never gets in there to begin with. This strategy also stops bugs and other critters from getting into a crawl space while reducing, or sometimes even eliminating mold growth and rot. The key to the CleanSpace system is the patented, 20-mil thick liner material. It is a tough blend of seven polyethylene and polyester cord reinforcement layers, designed specially for crawl spaces. Since the side you see after installation is bright white, it really brightens a crawl space and lets you know that it is free of mold, insects and dirt. The liner is so tough you can crawl on it and use your crawl space for storage without worry of putting holes or tears in it. And, of course, it completely stops moisture from getting in and ruining the underside of your house. Insects and critters of all kinds love damp environments and wet materials. From St. Paul to Tomah, Mason City to Lakeville, rot and decay occurs in damp environments causing structural damage. Heating and cooling costs are higher in a home with a vented dirt crawl space. Radon gas is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that comes from the ground in most areas of North America. The EPA has identified radon gas exposure with increased risk of lung cancer. Dirt crawl spaces allow radon gas to enter the home easily. Now there is a real solution to dirt crawl spaces - The CleanSpace System - developed by Basement Systems, the world leader in dry basement technology, and featured by Complete Basement Systems of MN. The CleanSpace Liner
The CleanSpace liner is carefully cut and installed. The workers will usually be working in their socks, once the floor piece is laid out to keep the liner clean. That's how clean your crawl space will be! The top edge of the CleanSpace liner is sealed to the walls with polyurethane sealant. All seams are sealed with special 4" wide sealing tape and or sealant made for the CleanSpace liner. The CleanSpace liner is also sealed around other objects such as pipes, columns, and piers with any combination of sealants or concrete. A clean, sealed crawl space can be an extra source for much needed storage while making your home more energy efficient, healthy, and safe for your family.
In addition, WaterGuard is a piping system engineered specifically to solve basement water problems effectively without worry of clogging from soils under the floor. It has large holes in the back to accept water and a flange with special segments. The patented WaterGuard system has a design that separates it from the soil under your floor so it will never clog. It also has special wall flange that creates a neat space between the floor and the wall to drain any wall seepage without allowing dirt and debris from the floor to enter. The WaterGuard system is applicable to all types of foundations including block poured concrete, stone, etc. To learn more about Waterguard, please click here.
